From the President - WOW! WOW! WOW!

What a huge day of racing last Saturday! 39 Races, 298 entries, 153 swimmers. Plus 20 new member registrations.

Firstly, a huge welcome to our new members, and a massive THANK YOU to those members that have put up their hand to marshall the kids, time-keep, move lane ropes, carry equipment from the club-house....even setup our new website.

With so many new members there is a massive amount of paperwork for our Committee to process. The volumes we are dealing with week-in, week-out are far greater than we have had in previous years.

In 2015/16 we implemented a "Race Registration and Handicapping" database - the handicapping is so good that it is often difficult (and stressful) for our judges to award 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings! With our increased numbers this season we are experiencing delays in the time it takes to start racing, however we do make up this time in the pool.

Our committee is working on our processes to minimise these delays, and we appreciate your ongoing patience (and good humour) whilst we do this. Please bear-in-mind that all of our Committee members are volunteers who work, have families and many other commitments. We do this because we love our Club and what it offers for all our families. Our aim is to make sure the day runs as smoothly as possible for everyone.

Swim Club works at its best when we have a lot of willing helpers, so feel free to pick up a stop watch and time keep, learn how to judge, or ask how you can help......you’ll meet some lovely people in the process!

Finally, as we spend time smoothing out the start to the season we have decided to postpone BINGO by the SEA until December. Next week (12th Nov) we will commence our racing with a fun Brace Relay, which is open to all, the more the merrier. Rules will be explained on the day.

We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday for another great, fun day of racing.

Thank You,

Aaron (President) and the FASC Committee
